According to Ghostbusters 2, an alien at the Paramus Holiday Inn predicted the world would end on Feb. 14, 2016. The Bill Murray comedy was released in 1989.

PARAMUS - According to an alien at the Paramus Holiday Inn, the world will end on Valentine's Day 2016 - this Sunday.

That's if you believe the 1989 supernatural comedy "Ghostbusters II."

"According to my source, the end of the world will be on February 14th in the year 2016," says Elaine, played by actress Chloe Webb.

"Valentine's Day. Bummer," says Bill Murray's character, Dr. Peter Venkman.

In the movie, the apocalyptic prediction and mention of the Paramus hotel is made on the set of Venkman's TV show, "The World of the Psychic." Murray's character has been hosting the show since the Ghostbusters crew disbanded in the first film.

"Where did you get your date, Elaine?" asks Venkman.

"I received this information from an alien," says Elaine. "It was in the Paramus Holiday Inn. I was having a drink at the bar alone and this alien approached me."

After a drink, the alien forces Elaine to follow him to his room. There, he reveals the world will end on 2-14-16.

"So your alien had a room at the Holiday Inn in Paramus?" the Murray character asks.

Elaine concedes it may not have been a hotel room; rather, it "might have been a room on a spacecraft made up to look like a room at the Holiday Inn."

Ghostbusters II, which was Ivan Reitman's sequel to the successful Ghostbusters, opened in theaters in June 1989. Despite mixed reviews, the film was one of the highest grossing films that year.

Attempts to reach Chloe Webb were not successful.

A front-desk clerk at the Holiday Inn Express in Paramus - a brand of the Holiday Inn - said she had not heard about the prediction and referred calls to her manager, who was not available on Thursday.
