3 caught with marijuana in their cars, Lodi police say

Both incidents occurred Friday night in Lodi, police said.

LODI - Three people face marijuana charges after being caught with the drug in their cars in two separate incidents last Friday, Lodi police said this week.

The first occurred about 6:55 p.m. when a patrol officer noticed a vehicle parked on Linden Street with its engine running and the lights off. As the officer approached the vehicle, he saw that the windows were up and the car was "filled with smoke," police said in a news release.

Inside the car, the driver was smoking what appeared to be a marijuana cigarette, police said.

Jason Godlewski, 21, of Washington Street, was charged with possession of marijuana, possession with intent to distribute within 500 feet of a park and a school zone, and possession of prescription medication. He was released on his own recognizance.

About a half hour later, officers with the borough's narcotics unit found a car parked t the dead end of Keasler Avenue. Inside, they found two people with what appeared to be marijuana.

Jagdeep Kaur, 22, of Kennedy Drive, was charged with possession of marijuana and released on a summons, police said.

Jatinder Singh, 26, of Mahwah, was charged with possession of CDS with the intent to distribute; distribution within 500 feet of a school and park. He was released on his own recognizance, police said.
