They'll appear on their party lines in Bergen County.

HACKENSACK -- Republicans and Democrats in Bergen County endorsed Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton, respectively, for president this month.

As a result, Trump and Clinton's names will appear on the party lines during the June 7 primary in Bergen County.

New Jersey is a winner-take-all state in the Republican primary. Whoever wins the most votes in the state gets all 51 New Jersey delegates, at least for the first round of voting at the Republican National Convention.

How many delegates Clinton, Trump need

Each congressional district gets three delegates, picked from names recommended by county party chairs. Bergen County Republican Chairman Bob Yudin said he's sent his recommendations to the Trump campaign.

These delegates will back whoever wins the statewide primary on a first ballot if there's a contested convention, but they're free to vote for whomever they choose if voting gets to a second round.

Aside from Trump, Bergen Republicans also backed Rep. Scott Garrett for the 5th Congressional District, Hector Castillo to challenge Rep. Bill Pascrell in the 9th Congressional District, Manuel Alfonso for County Sheriff, Hector Olmo for County Clerk, and Robert W. Avery for County Surrogate. The party also supports the re-election of Freeholder Maura DeNicola, in addition to John Driscoll and Robert Di Dio for the other contested freeholder seats.

The county Democrats endorsed Clinton for president, Josh Gottheimer for the 5th, Pascrell for the 9th, former Republican Michael Saudino for sheriff, incumbent John Hogan for clerk, incumbent Michael Dressler for surrogate, and Thomas Sullivan, Mary Amoroso and Germaine Ortiz for freeholder.
