The Hackensack man was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and sexual assault.
Santos Alberto Gregorio Lopez, 23, of Hackensack. (Bergen County Prosecutor's Office) HACKENSACK -- A 23-year-old Hackensack man had sex with a 15-year-old girl, Acting Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal said.
The Hackensack Police Department learned Friday about the girl's sexual relationship with Santos Alberto Gregorio-Lopez, Grewal said.
The girl said in an interview at the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office that she and Gregorio-Lopez had sex three times over the prior few months, Grewal said.
Based on interviews and an investigation by Hackensack Police and the Prosecutor's Office Special Victims Unit, police arrested Gregorio-Lopez Friday. He's charged with endangering the welfare of a child and sexual assault.
Gregorio-Lopez was sent to Bergen County Jail in lieu of $250,000 full bail. He is barred from contacting the girl if he makes bail.
He is scheduled to make his first appearance Wednesday at 9 a.m. in Hackensack Municipal Court.
