Gloria Crest, named for Gloria Swanson, is a 1926 Italianate mansion that underwent a major renovation and was once listed for $39 million Watch video
The owners of Gloria Crest, the lavishly restored Italianate mansion in Englewood formerly owned by cinema legend Gloria Swanson, have hacked $5.5 million off their asking price -- and at a mere $19.5 million, it's still the third priciest listing in the state.
Gloria Crest has been on and off the market since at least 2013, when it was listed at $39 million; the owners dropped the price to $25 million last year.
The owners had spent two years renovating the 24,000-square-foot home but retaining the Jazz Age feel of the mansion, built in 1926. The four-story home has eight bedrooms, nine full bathrooms and four, count 'em four, kitchens, with an elevator, screening room, gym, sauna, steam room, outdoor pool, and cabana.
The gated 5-acre property has its own lake, with a pavilion, playground and bocce court. Annual property taxes are $146,317.

Famous neighbors -- for now -- include Alicia Keys and celebrity rabbi Shmuley Boteach. Both currently have their Englewood homes on the market. Keys and husband Swizz Beatz have been trying to sell their 32-room mansion, once owned by Eddie Murphy, for $14.9 million since August, and Boteach put his neo-Gothic mansion on the market in November $3.995 million and reduced it to $3.5 million in January.
