Police release security camera images from thefts
PARAMUS -- Borough police issued an alert Monday for a crew of pickpockets who targeted women shopping at local supermarkets.
The department posted several security camera images dated earlier this month that show at least two men, including one who appears to reach into a woman's bag at a store.
"Don't leave your purse in your grocery cart as you shop," police warned in a Facebook post that offered other safety tips.
Most of the thefts occurred at supermarkets, police said.
Anyone with information about the incidents was asked to call Paramus police at 201-262-3400, or submit tips through the department website at paramuspolice.org.
