Holla, holla. The rapper may live in a world where celebrities get money for memes.

Ja Rule is having a fun day with the internet.

After he tweeted that Michael Jordan gets $1 each time someone uses the "Crying Jordan" meme, Twitter collectively seized upon the rapper's post. Was he kidding? Does he actually think the basketball great makes money off tweets using the popular social media expression?

Either way, the rapper became a trending topic Monday, which seemed to both tickle and antagonize the artist known for his chart-topping collaborations with Ashanti and other singers in the early aughts.

The offending tweet:

"This is why I love America while we all laughing at the Jordan crying face he gets 1$ every time it gets post. Jokes on us!!!"

Rule, 40, whose real name is Jeffrey Atkins, hails from Queens and lives in Saddle River. His MTV reality show, "Follow the Rules," is set at his Bergen County home. He later deleted the Crying Jordan tweet but proceeded to tweet about the reaction to his original post via his @Ruleyork account. His stream of tweets have touched on everything from memes combining his body with the Crying Jordan face to Kanye West to Donald Trump.

"Oh so this is how the Internet works," he said. "Say dumb (expletive) get a bunch of new followers!!! this won't be easy for me ya'll but I'll try." Atkins later mused that "every time someone screen grabs that tweet I get 50cents!!!"
