BERGENFIELD -- A Lodi man broke into a house Sunday and presented a fake ID when he was arrested, police said.

A neighbor saw the man run out of the Quincy Lane house at about 6:30 a.m., Bergenfield Police said in a media release.

Officers Rick Tauber and James Acito found the man walking northbound on Rector Court. They detained him there.

After an investigation, police determined the man smashed a window in the rear door of the Quincy Lane House. The sound set off the alarm system and woke up the homeowners.

The homeowners saw him run out of the house and gave police a description.

Police arrested the man and took him to headquarters. He gave them a provisional driver's license identifying him as Steven Mayisoglu, police said.

During the investigation, the man admitted the license was fake and that he was trying to avoid an outstanding probation warrant from the Bergen County Sheriff's Office. Police identified him as Antonio Bowen, 22, formerly of Lodi.

He was charged with burglary, theft, giving false information to a law enforcement officer to implicate another person, false government documents and hindering apprehension. He was charged with additional counts of false government documents and hindering apprehension because of an earlier case of in which he presented the Mayisoglu license, police said.

Bowen was sent to Bergen County Jail after failing to post $97,500 bail.
