Repairs could last hours.
PARAMUS -- A water main break Thursday could snarl traffic on Route 17 northbound for hours, police said.
The state Department of Transportation first reported the break at 5:42 a.m. at the exit for the Garden State Parkway.
The right and center lane of Route 17 north and the Parkway ramp are closed for emergency repairs between Century Road and Midland Avenue, Paramus Police said. They could stay closed until noon.
The Turnpike Authority is in the midst of a project to move the exits from the Parkway to Route 17 from the left side of the road to the right side of the road.
