EAST RUTHERFORD -- A fight that broke out at the 30th annual State Fair Meadowlands on Saturday morning has since been viewed by thousands online, thanks to a bystander who captured it on video.
State police responded to the incident about 12:23 a.m. Saturday after receiving a report of multiple people fighting, New Jersey State Police spokesman Sgt. Jeff Flynn said.
The fight lasted just a few minutes, Flynn said. Once officers arrived, the crowd had dispersed and "everyone was calm in the area," he said.
No one requested medical assistance. One person was arrested, but police do not believe it is connected to the fight at this time, Flynn said.
The 43-second long video, published on Facebook by Fammtv News & Entertainment, shows at least a dozen people at the fair, punching and kicking one another. As of 2 p.m. Saturday, the video had been shared more than 7,800 times on Facebook, reaching nearly 285,000 views.
"Oh my god," a woman can be heard saying in the video while laughing. "What the f--- is going on?"
