Cops searching for truck that critically injured woman in hit-and-run

The suspected vehicle involved in the crash that injured Anna Semioli, a Montclair State University student, may be a Ford F-150, according to Clifton police Sgt. Robert Bracken.

CLIFTON -- Police are looking for a dark-colored pickup truck in connection with the hit-and-run that critically injured a 22-year-old woman last week.

"We're asking that anyone who knows someone who has a truck like this and has stopped using it or noticed any damage to it to contact the police," Bracken said.

Semioli was struck just after midnight Friday while walking on Route 46 eastbound in Clifton near Valley Road, police have said.

As of Wednesday morning, Semioli was still in critical condition and in a coma at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Clifton, Bracken said.

Clifton police are also asking for the public's help with any surveillance cameras that may have been operating in the area at the time.

"We also ask local and extended area residents or businesses that have surveillance cameras to please review them and report anything that they deem suspicious," police said in a Facebook post." Semioli, who lives in Moonachie with her family, is studying accounting at Montclair State University.

Semioli's family has offered a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person responsible.

On Sunday, a friend of the family started a GoFundMe page to help Semioli's family with medical and other expenses. Nearly $2,000 had been raised as of Wednesday morning.
