Police found more than 500 gallons of allegedly stolen oil in their car.

ROCHELLE PARK -- Police found more than 500 gallons of stolen cooking oil in a car stopped on Route 17, NorthJersey.com reported.

Rochelle Park Police arrested the two grease-covered Yonkers residents in the car, Victor Delacruz, 27, and Jose Albornoz, 21, and charged them with receiving stolen property.

The cooking oil had been stolen from a Ramsey business, Detective Sgt. Jim DePreta said. Delacruz was also charged with marijuana possession after the Sept. 14 arrests.

Other New Jersey residents have been arrested in recent years for allegedly stealing cooking oil. In November 2015, police arrested a Newark man accused of pumping restaurant cooking oil into a tank in a white van. In October 2014, three Paterson man were arrested allegedly doing the same thing at a Bridgewater restaurant.
