With Hoboken's main transportation hub heavily damaged in Thursday's deadly NJ Transit train crash, New Jersey rail and bus commuters could face a rough trip into work on Friday morning.

Here is the latest information about mass transit service:

NJ TRANSIT BUS SERVICE

Status: NJ Transit is expanding its bus service to accommodate train customers affected by the Hoboken station closure. The agency said bus riders should plan for extra travel time due to anticipated traffic volume.

Service updates:

  • Supplemental service during a.m. & p.m. peak periods on the #126 bus (Hoboken-NY) and other commuter lines in Bergen, Passaic and Essex counties that operate in proximity to Hoboken-based rail service will be added to handle anticipated customer demand.
  • Bus shuttle service will operate between Secaucus Junction and Liberty State Park Light Rail Station. Service will begin at 6 a.m. and continue throughout the day until midnight. This service will operate on a load-and-go basis from bus lanes 8, 9 and 10 during peak hours. During off-peak hours, service will continue to operate less frequently, based upon demand. NJ Transit rail tickets and passes will be cross-honored on this shuttle service.
  • Customers who want to go from Secaucus to the Jersey City waterfront are advised to use the shuttle bus service to Liberty State Park and make a connection to Hudson-Bergen Light Rail.

PATH TRAIN SERVICE

Status: All PATH service in and out of the Hoboken station was restored Thursday afternoon and is expected to be running on a normal weekday schedule Friday morning.

HUDSON-BERGEN LIGHT RAIL SERVICE

The company said it will "resume regular service from the Hoboken South / NJ Transit terminal as soon as possible."
