About 50 headstones were toppled at Wyckoff Reformed Cemetery, authorities said.
WYCKOFF - Police are looking for vandals who toppled headstones at the historic Wyckoff Reformed Cemetery on Wyckoff Avenue, according to multiple published sources.
About 50 headstones were toppled overnight Sunday into Monday. Vandals went row by row, according Dr. Richard Lynch of the cemetery board, who spoke to 7online.com.
The cemetery has been located next to the Wyckoff Reformed Church for centuries.
Tombstones dating back to the early 1800s were vandalized, with many plots belonging to the first settlers of the town, according to 7online.com.
Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call Wyckoff police detectives at 201-891-2121.
