FORT LEE — A 42-year-old man was hospitalized Tuesday after encountering Port Authority police on the George Washington Bridge, the agency said in a statement.
The man was spotted on the south walk around 12:30 p.m. leaning over the railing. When officers approached the man, who police said was in an agitated state, yelled "don't shoot me." He also told officers not to come any closer.
