The man was hit near the Spring Valley, N.Y. station
UPDATE: Service resumed at about 8:25 a.m. on the Pasacack Valley line, according to NJ Transit. It had been suspended since about 6 a.m.
Service has been resumed in both directions on New Jersey Transit's Pascack Valley line Tuesday morning after a man was struck and killed by a train.
The man was hit near the Spring Valley, N.Y. station at around 6 a.m, according to an NJ Transit spokeswoman.
Train 1604 departed Spring Valley at 5:53 a.m. and was due in Hoboken at 7:07 a.m.
Spring Valley is the furthest station from Hoboken on the Pascack Valley line and one of three stations on that branch in Rockland County, N.Y.
Private bus carriers will cross-honoring NJ Transit tickets until midnight.
