The Florida resident used fake invoices from his trucking company

TRENTON-- A 57-year-old Florida man pleaded guilty Tuesday to wire fraud in a scheme involving hundreds of thousands of dollars in phony invoices for trucking services, U.S. Attorney for New Jersey Paul Fishman said.

In July 2015, Guidice's trucking company entered into an agreement with a factoring company in Bergen County. Under the agreement, Guidice assigned some accounts receivable to the factoring company in exchange for short-term financing.  Guidice sent the factoring company a total of $1.5 million in fraudulent invoices for services never performed between September 2015 and February, authorities said.

Guidice, of Windermere, faces up to 20 years in prison and a fine ranging from $250,000 up to twice the gain or loss from the offense.
