PARAMUS -- Chef Central, the cooking megastore on Route 17, is set to shutter its doors, according to a report.
"Ron Eisneberg, the founder of the store, told NorthJersey.com this week that he plans to close the store in early January.
After 17-years in business Eisenberg, a Woodcliff resident, cited rising costs and competition from internet retailers as a reason to shutter the 15,000-square-foot store.
Described as the "The Culinary Superstore," the kichtenware store featured a classroom kitchen which held cooking classes and a yearly competition that crowned "Ultimate Chef Bergen County."
A second location in Westchester County closed last year.
"We have truly enjoyed our time in Paramus and we want to thank all of our loyal vendors and customers," Eisenberg told NorthJersey.com.
