The former Englewood Cliffs deputy chief will collect the payout for overtime and unused sick and vacation days, according to a report.

ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS -- A former deputy police chief, who retired over a hostile work environment, will get a payout of more than $440,000, according to a report.

Micheal McMorrow will receive the retirement payout in five installments for hundreds of hours of unused sick and vacation days and overtime, NorthJersey.com reported.

McMorrow announced his resignation this summer from the $212,132-a-year job, citing a hostile work environment and political retaliation.

"Sadly, after a sustained barrage of defamatory statements, political retaliation and personal vindictiveness by some employees in the Englewood Cliffs Police Department, our work environment has become far too hostile to allow me to effectively continue my service to my hometown," McMorrow wrote in an August letter.

The former deputy chief was suspended in 2012 for allegedly disobeying an order from Police Chief Michael Cioffi, who has since been suspended over an alleged ticket-fixing scheme and other complaints.

In 2013, McMorrow received a $103,295 payout for unused compensatory time, NorthJersey.com reported.

McMorrow is suing Cioffi and the borough for retaliation. He is also suing another officer who claimed McMorrow used slurs against an openly gay officer.
