Victim's earlobe partially severed after fight, according to police.
PARAMUS -- A woman bit off part of another woman's earlobe in a melee at a Route 4 bar late Friday, police said.
Officers were called to a report of an intoxicated person around 11:10 p.m. at Miller's Ale House, where they found the two women, according to borough police Chief Kenneth Ehrenberg.
"A violent dispute occurred between the two, during which the suspect bit the victim's left earlobe, severing a portion of it," Ehrenberg added. "The suspect was uncooperative with the investigation and heavily intoxicated."
The injured woman declined to make a complaint and police could not find any witnesses to the bite, the chief said. Emergency services brought that women to Hackensack University Medical Center.
The alleged attacker was taken to Bergen Regional Medical Center, in line with a state law that permits police to bring an intoxicated person for treatment, according to Ehrenberg, who said the incident remained under investigation.
