BERGENFIELD -- A woman from New York was issued a summons after she struck a 39-year-old woman in a Bergenfield crosswalk on Sunday, authorities said.
Maria Franco, 43 from Katonah, N.Y., was making a left turn on South Washington Avenue in her Chevrolet Silverado when she struck a woman from Englewood who was in a crosswalk.
The woman reported hip and leg pain and she was taken to Englewood Hospital and Medical Center. Her injuries were not considered life threatening, said Captain Mustafa Rabboh on Monday.
The incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. Franco was issued a summons for failing to yield to a pedestrian.
Elsewhere in the county, Weiqi Wang, a 27-year-old was recently fatally struck as she was crossing the street in a marked crosswalk.
