A woman walked into police headquarters on Sunday and told police she was attacked in her home by an intruder, the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office said.
MIDLAND PARK -- A Jersey City man has been charged with multiple offenses in connection with an aggravated sexual assault during a home invasion early Sunday morning, authorities announced on Monday.
Weyam Rushdi, 36, was charged with aggravated sexual assault with a weapon, aggravated sexual assault during the commission of a burglary, armed burglary, aggravated assault, terroristic threats and for illegally possessing a weapon.
Officials said Rushdi was a student, but a request for more information was not immediately returned.
A woman walked into police headquarters in Midland Park on Sunday and told police she was physically and sexually assaulted in her residence by an intruder, the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office said.
Bail was set at $2 million with no 10 percent option. As conditions of bail, Rushdi was ordered to not have contact with the victim and to surrender his passport.
He is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 23.
