Police say Ronald Huegel, 23, of Beachwood, attempted to burglarize a Manchester Township home early Thursday morning.

MANCHESTER - An Ocean County man is wanted and a Bergen County teen is in jail following the attempted burglary of a township home early Thursday morning.

At approximately 5 a.m. on Thursday, someone removed two exterior screens from a home on Molly Pitcher Boulevard in the Crestwood Village 4 section of the township, presumably to look for unlocked windows, police said.

When they were unsuccessful, they threw a large rock through one of the home's windows in another unsuccessful attempt to gain entry, which prompted a call to police, authorities said.

After meeting with the victim, Patrolman Michael Anderson checked the surrounding area and located two individuals standing in front of another residence on Molly Pitcher Boulevard. While speaking with those individuals, he learned the name of a possible suspect, police said.

Detective Craig Beaulieu assisted with the investigation and conducted multiple interviews, which enabled police to identify 23-year-old Ronald Huegel, of Beachwood, and 19-year-old Jordan Stuart, of Lyndhurst, as being responsible for the attempted burglary, police said.

Huegal was charged with one count each of criminal attempt-burglary and criminal mischief, while Stuart was charged with one count of criminal attempt-burglary.

Stuart was lodged in the Ocean County Jail in default of $2,500 bail.

Huegel's bail was set at $5,000, however he was entered as New Jersey wanted person because his whereabouts were unknown as of Friday morning, police said.

The Manchester Township Police Department is requesting the public's assistance in locating Huegal. Anyone with knowledge of his whereabouts should contact Manchester Township police at 732-657-6111.
