Ramadhan Muhammad also faces a gun charge.
TEANECK -- Police last Tuesday finally caught a Teaneck man wanted for a burglary committed more than three years ago.
Teaneck detectives Kevin Brennan and Ronald Boswell saw Ramadhan Muhammad, 20, on Dec. 27 while driving on Hubert Terrace, Acting Police Chief Glenn M. O'Reilly said.
Muhammad was wanted in a burglary that took place on Sept. 22, 2013 on Cane Street, O'Reilly said. Police collected fingerprints but did not get a match at the time.
The Bergen County Sheriff's Office Bureau of Criminal Investigations finally matched the prints to Muhammad in December and notified Teaneck Police.
Muhammad spotted the detectives and cut through Argonne Park, east of Hubert Terrace, O'Reilly said. Officer Craig Luebeck saw Muhammad in the neighborhood east of the park and alerted Brennan and Boswell.
The detectives arrived and arrested Muhammad. Police recovered a fanny pack Muhammad tossed before the arrest.
Inside was a loaded Glock handgun, O'Reilly said.
Muhammad was charged with weapons offenses and tampering with physical evidence. He posted $10,000 bail on Wednesday, jail records show.
Muhammad was arrested three times between the alleged burglary and Dec. 28, on charges of robbery, drug possession, weapon possession and violating probation, jail records show.
