Here's where all 32 fatal crashes happened in Bergen County last year

In 2015, there were 29 accidents in Bergen County and 30 fatalities, according to statewide data. Whereas in 2016, there were 32 crashes and 35 fatalities.

The state's most populous county saw a slight increase in the number of fatal accidents and the number of victims in 2016 compared to the previous year, according to data released by the New Jersey State Police.

In 2015, there were 29 accidents in Bergen County and 30 fatalities, according to statewide data. In 2016, there were 32 crashes and 35 fatalities.

Of those fatalities in 2016, 16 were to the driver, five were the passenger and 14 were pedestrians.

Bergen County also had the second-highest number of fatal accidents in the state involving pedestrians last year, according to the data.

Essex County led the state with the number of pedestrian fatalities with 21.

Three towns saw the most fatal accidents (three): East Rutherford, Hackensack and Teaneck. The highest number of fatal crashes, three of them, occurred on Route 3. There were two on the Garden State Parkway.

Most fatalities in Bergen County were to the drivers operating the vehicles, according to the data.
