Historic Bergen County inn escapes wrecking ball, report says

Concord Hospitality sold the hotel in in July 2015 to Oak Springs Holdings, LLC for $10.9 million, according to the report.

TENAFLY -- The current owners of the historic Clinton Inn Hotel aren't planning on demolishing the structure and are instead considering plans that would turn part of it into an assisted living facility, NorthJersey.com reported.

The 120-room hotel, at 145 Dean Drive, was built in the late 1800s. Concord Hospitality sold the hotel in in July 2015 to Oak Springs Holdings, LLC for $10.9 million, according to the report.

The new owners' attorney, Elliot Urdang, told the publication that the owners are considering expanding the hotel and event space.

The area is not zoned for an assisted living facility, so if the owners were to pursue it, the plan would need approval from the township, Urdang said.

Town Councilman Paul Stefanowitz reportedly told the publication that it was an "ambitious, but good" plan, and that the town "is not against it."

The building reportedly previously had only eight rooms and a restaurant when it first opened.
