According to an article posted on bergencounty.com, "Sinatra had his first professional singing appearance at the Rustic Cabin, now the name of a gas station on Route 9W close to where the original Rustic Cabin used to be."
"He sang, waited tables and acted a bit of a comedian at the popular restaurant, and was discovered there by swing band leader Harry James in 1939."
