Isaac Nesbit, 29 of New York, N.Y., was charged with robbery in the first degree, obstruction of law and making terroristic threats, Captain Patrick Kissane of the Fort Lee Police said.

Police received a report just before noon on Friday about a man who gave a threatening note to a teller at the Bank of New Jersey on West Street, Kissane said.

Nesbit fled on foot and was later noticed by police on Center Avenue near the George Washington Bridge, Kissane said.

Nesbit crossed over 14 lanes of highway traffic, Kissane said, before he was arrested by police.

Kissane said Nesbit was found with an undisclosed amount of money.

Nesbit was taken to the Fort Lee Police Department and later transferred to the Bergen County Jail.

The Bergen County Sheriff's Department's Crime Scene Unit and the FBI helped in the investigation, Kissane said.
