EDGEWATER -- A borough man sexually assaulted a female acquaintance, authorities said.
The woman reported the alleged sexual assault Saturday at the Edgewater Police Department, Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said.
Edgewater Police notified the prosecutor's office Special Victims Unit and they began a joint investigation.
Based on the interviews and the investigation, police arrested Dunstan K. Williams, 24, Molinelli said. He was charged with three counts of aggravated sexual assault, one count of robbery, one count of possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose and one count of terroristic threats.
A judge set bail at $600,000, with no option to pay 10 percent in cash. Williams, an unmarried restaurant server, is barred from contacting the woman and surrendered his passport as part of his bail conditions.
Williams was sent to Bergen County Jail.
