HACKENSACK - Police are looking for a man who robbed and sexually assaulted a woman at gunpoint after following her from a bus stop.

The woman told police she was followed about 9:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 27 from a bus stop on Main Avenue near Poplar Avenue in Hackensack.

"The man held a handgun in his hand and approached the victim near the intersection of Poplar Avenue and Grand Avenue," Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said in a statement.

At that location the man ordered the woman to give him her money before sexually assaulting her, according to the prosecutor.

The man fled on foot.

The woman reported the assault on Friday, Dec. 4.

She described the suspect as "skinny," black with medium-to-dark complexion, short cropped hair, about 5-feet, 8-inches tall, about 30 to 40-years-old, wearing a bubble vest over a long dark coat, dark jeans and dark sneakers.

On Thursday, the prosecutor's office released a composite sketch of the suspect that was completed with help from the New Jersey State Police, Molinelli said.

Anyone with information can contact Detective Michael FALATO of the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Special Victims Unit Tips Line at 201-226-5532 or Detective Robert Ghirardi of the Hackensack Police Department at 201-646-7743.
