The New Jersey Board of Medical Examiners revoked Dr. Frederick Weintraub's medical license earlier this month.
NORTHVALE - A podiatrist accused of sexual misconduct with a patient and lewd behavior with medical staff at a facility for the developmentally disabled has lost his license to practice medicine, according to New Jersey Acting Attorney General John J. Hoffman.
The New Jersey Board of Medical Examiners revoked Dr. Frederick Weintraub's medical license earlier this month, Hoffman said in a statement on Tuesday.
Weintraub agreed to the permanent revocation, effective Dec. 3, under the terms of a consent order with the board, according to Hoffman.
"Weintraub's pattern of inappropriate sexual misconduct is clearly unacceptable and the Board's action ensures that he will never practice medicine in this state again," Hoffman said.
In December 2012, the attorney general's office filed a two-count complaint accusing Weintraub of sexual misconduct and other related inappropriate and lewd behavior.
Specifically, Weintraub allegedly "groped and fondled the breasts of a patient during an office visit in 2012," Hoffman said.
Through his attorneys in 2012, Weintraub admitted to "inadvertently" touching the breasts of a patient but denied the other allegations.
Weintraub has also been accused of engaging in inappropriate behavior, including groping and making sexual references and innuendo with staff members "at a nonprofit organization for which Weintraub provided on-site podiatric services to developmentally disabled patients," Hoffman said.
After a temporary suspension in 2013, Weintraub allegedly continued to provide podiatric services, wrote prescriptions for controlled dangerous substances, and performed an evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of a condition affecting the lower extremities, Hoffman said in the statement.
Weintraub was arrested in 2014 for unauthorized practice of podiatric medicine, according to Hoffman.
Under the terms of the consent order, Weintraub will not be allowed to reapply for his license at any time.
Investigators with the Enforcement Bureau within the Division of Consumer Affairs conducted the investigation in cooperation with the Northvale Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
