UPPER SADDLE RIVER -- A man was airlifted to the hospital Thursday with severe burns over his body in what police are investigating as possibly an intentional act.
Officers responded to a home in the northeast section of town just after 3 p.m. Thursday for reports of a man with severe burns throughout his body, said police.
At the scene police found a 55-year-old man with severe burns on his head, face, chest, arms and legs.
The Upper Saddle River Valley Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene. Hackensack Airmed One was called and the unidentified man was airlifted to Saint Barnabas Medical Center, where he was listed in critical condition, said police.
Officers are withholding the man's name pending notification of next of kin.
