ENGLEWOOD -- A 21-year-old Teaneck man was killed while driving on state highway four early Saturday morning, authorities said.
The victim, whose name was not released, and his passenger were driving westbound through the city at approximately 3 a.m. when their vehicle struck the center divider just west of Grand Avenue, said Bergen County Sheriff's Office spokesman Anthony Cureton.
After his red Acura Integra struck the divider, the victim was ejected from the vehicle and then struck by another car also traveling westbound, Cureton said. It is unclear whether the second driver was aware they struck the victim, he added.
Medical personnel pronounced the victim dead after arriving at the scene, Cureton said. The passenger was transported to Hackensack University and Medical Center with minor injuries.
Officials are asking anyone with information concerning the crash to contact the Bergen County Sheriff's Office Bureau of Police Services at (201)336-7893.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
