WALLINGTON - The 22-year-old woman found dead in a car submerged in the Passaic River was traveling at a high rate of speed before the accident, according to police who examined surveillance video.
The Record reported that Devorah Stubin of Passaic was driving fast in the parking lot of the Wallington Exchange Restaurant and Banquet Hall when her vehicle struck a guardrail near the river's edge and flipped over into the river.
Stubin suffered from epilepsy but police have not determined whether the condition contributed to the accident.
About 30 minutes before the accident, police in Maywood gave Stubin a ticket for driving without headlights, according to the report.
