The body was reportedly found in a car outside a fast-food restaurant on Hackensack Avenue.
HACKENSACK - Police on Monday were at the scene of a Burger King parking lot amid reports that a dead body had been found.
The body was found inside car parked at the fast food restaurant.
The car is a gold-colored Cadillac with New York plates. The rear passenger window was down and a police officer was seen looking inside the vehicle.
The car had been covered in snow early this morning as two Burger King employees arrived to work, according to one witness.
"That car had to have been there since Saturday," said Chuck Edmonson, 56, of North Arlington, who works at an automotive shop nearby.
In a CBS news video, a police officer appears to tell another that the car battery is dead.
Several Hackensack police cars were at the scene this morning, along with a Bergen County Sheriff's vehicle.
Hackensack police did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
The 24-hour drive-through Burger King remained open during the investigation but workers declined to comment. No one answered the phone at the restaurant.
