EDGEWATER -- Detectives are investigating a homicide Monday in Edgewater, Acting Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal said.
Edgewater police referred comment to the prosecutor's office, which did not immediately release further details.
The prosecutor's office and Edgewater police have roped off an area on Old River Road.
Mike Fiore said he was in the area at 7 a.m. and saw police and drops of blood on the street. The area police have cordoned off has buildings with restaurants and businesses on the first floor and apartments above.
"I'm just really hoping it's not somebody I know," said Mary Grace Petillo, a nearby resident who frequents the businesses.
