Adolfo A. Henriquez of Maryland Avenue is charged with aggravated sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
GARFIELD - A 35-year-old electrician from Paterson was arrested Tuesday and charged in the alleged sexual abuse of a juvenile female acquaintance, according to police and prosecutors.
Adolfo A. Henriquez of Maryland Avenue was arrested after a joint investigation between Garfield police and the Bergen County Prosecutor's Special Victims Unit, authorities said.
The New Jersey Division of Child Protection and Permanency received a report Monday from someone who alleged Henriquez had abused the child in Garfield, Acting Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal said in a statement.
"During the course of the investigation, it was determined that (the suspect) had committed illegal sexual acts on a juvenile female acquaintance," Grewal said.
Henriquez was charged with aggravated sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child, Grewal said.
He was taken to the Bergen County Jail on $300,000 full bail, the prosecutor said.
