The Lifetime show pitted Highlands Voices from Allendale's Northern Highlands Regional High School against Stay Tuned from Cherry Hill East High School

Lifetime's "Pitch Slapped," the eight-part docuseries about rival a cappella groups from two New Jersey high schools, culminated in an aca-showdown (sorry, couldn't be helped) Tuesday night. Which team reigned supreme?

Despite the scrappy underdog edit through the series and an ambitious arrangement of "Same Love" by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, Cherry Hill East High School's Stay Tuned fell to the more seasoned Highlands Voices of Allendale's Northern Highlands Regional High School, which performed "When Love Takes Over" by David Guetta with Kelly Rowland.

The show brought on two pros to coach the teams: Diana Preisler, the leader and manager of the a cappella group Blue Jupiter, worked with Highlands Voices, and Stay Tuned was mentored by Deke Sharon, the vocal arranger of "Pitch Perfect" and its sequel

The summer invitational finals actually took place in July at SOPAC in South Orange, and also the finale episode also featured the Octaves of Paramus High School, which performed a remixed version of "Lean on Me," originally by Bill Withers, and Soulfege from Millburn High School, which performed Beyonce's "If I Were A Boy."
