The hole formed around 9 p.m. as crews were arriving at Glen and Woodside avenues to investigate the sewer line problem. No one was hurt and no residents were evacuated, officials said.

The hole is about 20 feet by 30 feet in diameter and about six feet deep, Mike Rau of the Office of Emergency Management told News 12.

The incident occurred the day after storms that brought high winds and heavy flooding throughout Bergen County and the rest of the state.
