Worker found dead Tuesday morning

TEANECK -- Police were investigating if high winds caused a building manager to fall seven-stories to his death at the Glenpointe complex Tuesday, according to reports.

The 56-year-old man was found dead around 7 a.m., authorities said. Police told 1010WINS the worker was possibly blown off the roof by a gust of wind.

The man, whose name was not yet released, went to the roof to check for any damage from strong winds overnight, NorthJersey.com reported.

These were the strongest wind gusts in each county

High winds moved into the area Monday and continued Tuesday. A gust reaching 58 mph was reported at Newark Liberty International Airport on Monday evening.

The National Weather Service said gusts reaching 50 mph were possible Tuesday morning and a wind advisory was in place until noon.

The Glenpointe, on Frank W Burr Boulevard, includes office space, a spa and hotel.

Township police were not immediately available to provide further details.
