Movie returning to the big screen after star's death
Prince's 'Purple Rain' film will play at 160 theaters across the country starting Saturday -- including several locations in New Jersey -- as a tribute to the star.
AMC Theatres and Carmike Cinemas will show the 1984 movie Saturday to Thursday, both chains announced.
"Immediately after learning of Prince's tragic death on Thursday, AMC Theatres worked with the Warner Bros. distribution team to bring PURPLE RAIN to the big screen," a company statement said.

Iconic pop star Prince dead at 57
Prince, 57, was found dead at his Paisley Park studio outside of Minneapolis, Minn. on Thursday. An autopsy was conducted Friday but the cause of his death remains a mystery.
"Purple Rain," a semi-autographical film starring Prince, was made in 1984 and earned Prince an Oscar for best original song.
