The R&B superstar listed the 13,000-square-foot mansion more than a year ago; this is her first price cut
Mary J. Blige's real estate theme song: "I'm goin' down." The R&B icon slashed $1.1 million off the price of her 13,000-square-foot Saddle River mansion, on the market for more than a year. It's now listed for $11.9 million, according to Trulia.
The entertainer purchased the home through a limited liability corporation in 2008 for $12.3 million, records show. There was a report earlier this year that she had entertained an offer on the home, but if so, it apparently fell through.
The 8-bedroom, 8-bath home includes two separate dining rooms, a library, wine cellar, screening room, an elevator, a large home gym, a steam room, a sauna, a pool and pool house, and a master bedroom with his and her bathrooms, closets and an espresso station. The property taxes are $97,548 a year.
The photos indicate that Blige has moved out, but she also owns a 6-bedroom home in Closter. The singer, who recently appeared to great acclaim as Evilene in NBC's "The Wiz Live!," has had money troubles in recent years, including a $3.4 million federal tax lien that remains unpaid, according to records obtained by NJ Advance Media.
It's the fourth most expensive listing in Saddle River; the priciest is an 7-bedroom home on five acres for $15 million. Comedian and talk show host Rosie O'Donnell still has her Saddle River estate on the market for $6.975 million; she listed it in November.
