David Zatta, 59, of Dumont died in a second-floor leisure room, police said.
BERGENFIELD - An overnight custodian found dead inside Bergenfield High School Tuesday morning has been identified as David Zatta of Dumont, according to police.
Zatta, 59, was found "unconscious and unresponsive" shortly after 7 a.m. in the school's second-floor leisure room, according to police Capt. Mustafa Rabboh.
Paramedics pronounced Zatta dead at the scene at 7:30 a.m., police said.
The body was taken to the Bergen County Medical Examiner's Office.
"At this time, the death is not deemed suspicious in nature," Rabboh said in a statement.
Rabboh said Zatta was employed by the high school and was working the overnight shift.
"Mr. Zatta's family was notified by Bergenfield officers with the assistance of Dumont PD," Rabboh said. "Our deepest condolences go to Mr. Zatta's family, friends, and the Bergenfield High School staff."
