The Mega Millions ticket was sold in Hudson, the Powerball ticket in Bergen
Both of the $1 million lottery tickets sold in the state for the weekend's large multi-state drawings were purchased in North Jersey, lottery officials said Monday.
The $1 million Mega Millions ticket for Friday's $310 million drawing was sold at Secaucus News on Paterson Plank Road in Secaucus. Saturday's $1 million Powerball ticket was bought at Garden State News on Old Tappan Road in Old Tappan.
How much lottery money goes unclaimed?
The Mega Millions winning numbers were 20, 23, 30, 44 and 59. The Mega Ball, which the New Jersey ticket didn't have, was 9. One ticket in Rhode Island and one in California also matched five numbers. The Rhode Island player paid an additional $1 for the Megaplier, making his or her prize $5 million.
As for the Powerball drawing, the winning numbers were 2, 23, 41, 53 and 63. The Power Ball was 11. In addition to the big New Jersey winner, there was also a $1 million ticket sold in Missouri. Someone who bought a ticket in New York spent an extra $1 to exercise the Power Play option and won $2 million.
