Police learned they were traveling in Fort Lee in the vehicle of their friend Brian Guerrero, 23. They got into a physical fight in the area of Palisades Boulevard and 16th Street, Horton said.

During the fight, Guerrero stabbed the men with an X-Acto knife in his Volkswagen Golf, Horton said. The two men got out and walked to Fort Lee Police Headquarters.

Guerrero drove away, Horton said.

Detectives later found Guerrero and his vehicle. He confessed to stabbing both men, Horton said.

Detectives saw blood stains on the outside and inside of the Volkswagen, Horton said. They also saw an X-Acto knife inside.

Guerrero was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose. He was released.
