CLIFFSIDE PARK - Nine people were taken to a hospital Monday after a faulty air conditioner leaked Freon into a preschool and daycare center, according to NorthJersey.com.
The adults and children were inside Apple Montessori Schools on Gorge Road, according to the report.
The five children and four adults were taken to the hospital as a precaution and to be evaluated because the Freon caused the oxygen levels to be lower than normal, according to the report.
The air conditioner had been repaired earlier in the day, the report said.
The Cliffside Park Fire Department investigated and determined about an hour after the incident that the building was safe to occupy, the report said.
