ENGLEWOOD - A chiropractor has been arrested and charged with criminal sexual contact after three of his patients told police they were inappropriately touched during treatment, authorities said Tuesday.

Archer L. Irby, 45, of Leonia, was charged Saturday in connection with one incident and again on Monday in connection with two others, according to Acting Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal.

Police began investigating Irby on Friday when two women said the chiropractor inappropriately touched them in his office at Irby Spine Care on Grand Avenue, Grewal said in a statement.

On Saturday, a third woman reported to police that "she had just been inappropriately touched by Irby during a chiropractic treatment in his office," Grewal said.

Irby was arrested Saturday and charged with one count of criminal sexual contact. He was released on $2,500 bail. On Monday, Irby was charged with two more counts of criminal sexual contact, one count of attempted criminal sexual contact and one count of lewdness, the prosecutor said.

Irby was ordered held on an additional $7,500 full bail with a court hearing set for Aug. 17, the prosecutor said.
