Police are asking for assistance Thursday for more information in a hit-and-run that left a 66-year-old woman with serious injuries.
BERGENFIELD -- Police asked for the public's help Thursday to identify the driver of a car involved in a hit-and-run that left a 66-year-old woman with serious injuries.
Bergenfield Police received a call at about 7:13 p.m. on Wednesday reporting that a woman was hit by a car near the intersection of South Prospect Avenue and West Broad Street.
The woman was lying in the road when police arrived. She was taken and admitted to Hackensack University Medical Center.

Police determined that the car briefly stopped at the scene before fleeing and driving northbound. The car is believed to be small to mid-size, dark colored passenger vehicle. It could've sustained damage to the front and driver's sides, the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office said.
