No one was hurt, a train official said.

HARRINGTON PARK -- A driver under the influence of drugs or alcohol got his car stuck on railroad tracks Wednesday night, police said.

A CSX train hit the vehicle at about 11 p.m. at Lafayette Road, said Rob Doolittle, a spokesman for CSX. No one was hurt.

The driver, 44-year-old Alexander Petgrave of Paterson, got out of the car when he saw the train coming, said Harrington Park Police Chief Albert Maalouf. Police arrested him when he failed sobriety tests, Maalouf said.

Petgrave was charged with driving under the influence, refusing to submit to a breath test, reckless driving and failure to yield. He was released to a family member.

The train was traveling from Atlanta to Selkirk, N.Y. and carrying mixed freight, Doolitle said. Train traffic was suspended for about two hours.
