HASBROUCK HEIGHTS - A woman who walked off her first day on the job Tuesday got into an altercation with the company's 60-year-old security guard and stabbed him, according to police.
Christina N. Gomes, 28, of Passaic was arrested shortly after attacking the man with a razor-like sheetrock knife about 3 p.m. at Fashion Logistics on Route 46 West, said police Det. Lt. Michael Colaneri.
Gomes, who had been hired earlier that day, "decided she didn't want to work anymore" and walked into a restricted area of the building, Colaneri said.
When the security guard told Gomes to move, she got angry, police said.
"She stated she was just waiting for a ride," Colaneri said. "She then got upset and stabbed the security guard and fled out the door."
The guard, who was not identified, was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center with injuries not considered life-threatening.
Police found Gomes on Route 17 near Hackensack.
She was charged with aggravated assault and a weapons charge. She was being held in the Bergen County jail on $50,000 bail, police said.
